Día de los Muertos, Day of the Dead, is traditionally observed on November 1st and 2nd. Families and friends come together during this celebration to honor their departed loved ones. They fill the air with celebration, actively participating in a variety of joyful activities such as banquets, music, lively face painting, dances, and crafting intricate ofrendas. These ofrendas are beautifully decorated altars that hold presents and pictures of those who have passed.

For the 23rd year in a row, Meca Día de los Muertos is the biggest celebration for this holiday in Houston. Over an exuberant two days, this vibrant cultural celebration will include a variety of cultural delights, such as shows on three separate stages, a fascinating display of ofrendas and altars, skilled artisans presenting their creations, interactive activities for children, and a mouthwatering array of culinary treats.

Celebrating with family and children is perfect at The Texas Children's Museum.
