Pitmaster Aaron Franklin and Tyson Cole Team Up for New Concept in the Heights

Aaron Franklin, the famous Austin-based pitmaster, and Tyson Cole of Uchi fame here in Houston, have announced the opening of a new concept that they're bringing to the Heights: Loro.

Part of Hai Hospitality, Loro is described as "an Asian smokehouse and bar brought to you by James Beard Award winners Chef Tyson Cole and Aaron Franklin of Franklin Barbecue. Its menu will focus on combining Texan and Asian influences highlighting smoked meats, sides, craft beer and batch cocktails."

The restaurant, which will be located at 1001 W. 11th St., will also feature an expansive patio.

Loro is slated for an opening in early 2021.
