Houston: One of the US's Top Cities for On-The-Go Millennials

Houston is number 18 when it comes to the best city for millennials to live in.

The Bayou City, as we know it, is one of the fastest-growing and most attractive destinations among young millennials, on the move. These young, working professionals are seeking work and a better quality of life, according to recent studies by SmartAsset.

SmartAsset (a growing financial technology company), dug into U.S Census Bureau data from all 50 states plus D.C. (including 180 specific sites) and found out that over 18,000 millennials migrated there last year, while only about 15,000 left. That means Houston has more than enough room for new arrivals. If you're looking at moving or just want someplace with plenty of economic opportunities, then Houston is a great place for you.

You'll be happy to know that Texas is a great place for millennials. More than 187,000 people from that generation have migrated there in the pre-pandemic year alone. Only around 154,000 left during this same time period.

It’s no surprise to hear that our capitol, Austin, landed as the No. 4 hot-spot, overall. Austin reported a net migration of 3,516 millennials in 2019 alone.

Dallas only missed out on the top 10 by 1 position with 2,525 migrants in 2019. San Antonio ranked 22nd for the millennial movement last year, showing a net gain of 1,865 this past year.

We expect to see booming growth in Houston in the coming summer and fall of 2021.
