Hassle-free ways to get to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

It’s Rodeo time in Houston. While the Rodeo can be loads of fun for people of all ages, finding transportation and parking can be a headache for many. Here are some details on how to make getting to the rodeo an easier task.

Parking

Riders also have the option to leave their car at one of several stops along METRORail's Red Line, including the Fannin South Transit Center, which costs $20 for monitored parking and is located just one stop away from NRG Park. Parking is also available at the HCC Midtown Garage at 3200 Main for $5 and at the HCC Northline Garage at 8001 Fulton for $10.

Park & Ride Shuttles

Patrons have the option to park at several METRO Park & Ride lots that offer non-stop shuttle service to NRG Stadium. Shuttle service from 7821 North Shepherd is $6.50, and service from the stations at 515 Maxey Road, the West Loop Transit Center at 4675 South Braeswood Boulevard and the Monroe station at 8833 1/2 Gulf Freeway is $4.

METRO Q Mobile Ticketing

Spend more time at the Rodeo and less time waiting to buy tickets with the new METRO Q Mobile Ticketing app — launching on Monday, February 29 — that gives customers the convenience they want for buying and presenting fares securely from their mobile phones.

Public Parking at the Rodeo

If you decide to drive to the Rodeo and don't have access to permit, volunteer or handicapped parking, go to the entrance for public parking at the 610 lot off of West Bellfort and Kirby at Gate 20. The hours of operation are:

World's Championship Bar-B-Que Contest Feb. 26 - Feb. 27: 11 am to 10 pm

Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo March 1 – 20: 10 am to 10 p,

The cost is $20 during the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest and $15 during the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

A limited number of spaces for ADA parking, including van accessible parking, are available in the Miller Lite Teal (entrance is Gate 14 off of Murworth) and Yellow (enter Gate 16 off Main Street) lots for $20 per day. These spaces are sold on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to availability. Present valid state issued handicap placard or vehicle registration for access.

Uber and other transportation companies

If you are Ubering to the rodeo or using other transportation companies, all vehichles will be directed to the Teal lot from Main Street. There will be a police road block and drivers should inform the officers with the company they are with to be allowed to enter the road closure. Drop off will occur in the Teal lot and the driver must exit the lot. There will not be room for any vehicles to remain in the lot, officials explain on the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo website.

Patrons looking for Uber and other transportation companies will be directed to the same lot. There is no other authorized pick-up/drop-off location.
