Harris County Pets Grand Opening
Harris County celebrated the Grand Opening of Harris County Pets this week, a new animal resource center which replaces the former Harris County Animal Shelter. The new facility was made possible by a $24 million bond proposal in 2015. The new center provides increased capacity and expanded services for pets and owners.
The 50,000 square-foot facility can house 300 dogs and 225 cats.
Officials say construction of a four-section dog park and pavilion is underway and slated for completion by the end of 2020.
