First part of Memorial Drive tunnels now open to vehicles

The eastbound lanes of the new Memorial Drive tunnels opened this week, allowing for one-way traffic.

The opening of the westbound lanes has not yet been announced, but all lanes are expected to be open by May. Stopping and pedestrian traffic are prohibited in the tunnels.

The Memorial Park Land Bridge and Prairie project will be completed late this year according to the Memorial Park Conservancy. The land bridge will serve as a connector for the north and south sides of Memorial Park, making travel easier for users and wildlife.
