Houston's Newest Park Brings More Options for Relaxation and Entertainment to the Downtown Area

Southern Downtown Park in Houston has recently undergone a massive overhaul and complete name-change. On March 12th, the DRA (Downtown Redevelopment Authority) just broke ground on what will now be called Trebly Park, in Downtown Houston.

According to recent press releases, construction on the park is estimated for completion by the end of March of 2022. The design of the park will feature dog runs for both large and small dogs, public art, and a lawn for hosting events. Trebly Park is going to be a go-to location for active lifestyles, relaxing, recreation, events, breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, and everything in between.

Public Art in Trebly Park
Public art is going to be a huge staple for Trebly, with exhibits rotating every two years. One of the artistic nuances of the park is a gateway installation and canopy, featuring a unique, painted, PVC mesh design that changes color with the lighting and wind.

The park also features a fun and artistic playscape for kids. An interactive sculpture titled “Whale Bone Dinner Party” is a large, multifaceted, interactive sculpture that has beautiful, playable features and fun areas for discovery as well.

Perfect for Active Lifestyles
The park will have multiple garden zones that frame the central lawn. There will be seating, water features, and a Live Oak-lined walkway that runs through the park. For casual and serious cyclists, there will be bike racks, a bike repair station, and even a Bcycle Station for bike rentals.

The dog runs are perfect for pet owners, and dogs of all sizes. The park will have plenty of lawn space with built-in lounging options as a permanent fixture. The park has an entertainment and event space where they plan to schedule movies in the park, live music, and art.

Dining Options at Trebly Park
Trebly will have an all-day cafe, Tout Suite, which will serve everything under the sun from juice and coffee to wine, craft beer, pastries, and baked goods from the Commerce Street Commissary.

Trebly Park was intentionally designed and laid-out to have a little something for everyone, bringing flair, food, fun, art, relaxation, and a beautiful escape to Downtown Houston.
