Houston Home Sales Continue Outperforming 2019

Houston home sales continued to see more growth in August according to the Houston Association of Realtors.

August was the third straight month where sales outpaced 2019 in the Houston area. Supply of homes is dwindling so the expectation is that sales will normalize for the remainder of the year.

In the Greater Houston area, sales of single family homes saw a 6% year-over-year increase from 2019 to 2020. Active listings dropped 23$ in August, bringing the region to a 2.8 month supply of homes. Year to date, 2020 sales are running about 3% higher then 2019.
